God The Holy Spirit

1. Applying Christ's benefits of regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification to the elect

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.

- Titus 3:5

2. Dwelling in the hearts of all true believers

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

- I Corinthians 3:16

3. Giving life; both spiritually and naturally

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

- Genesis 1:2

4. Calling and equipping men for special service

As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate Me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

- Acts 13:2

5. Gathering and leading the church

In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

- Ephesians 2:22

6. Inspiring the writing of the Scriptures

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man; but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

- 11 Peter 1:21

7. Preparing the human nature of Christ

And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

- Luke 1:35

The primary work of each divine Person in the salvation of sinners is often remembered through the following three rhyming words:

    1. Thought by God the Father in heaven.

    2. Bought by God the Son on earth.

    3. Wrought (worked) by God the Holy Spirit in the hearts of the saved.

What would happen to the entire human race if God the Holy Spirit did not apply salvation to the hearts of elected sinners?

Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ.

- I Peter 1:2a
