Can you name some religious groups which deny the truths of the Trinity and the personhood of God the Holy Spirit?

Do you know the difference between a church and a cult? Churches believe in the Trinity and cults do not. Can you name some cults in your area?

What should we do to possibly help deniers of the Trinity in our society? Would having photocopies of these pages at home be of help, if some came to your door?

4. DIVINE HONORS - Honors that can only be given to God

a. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

- Matthew 28:19

b. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

- II Corinthians 13:14

c. Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

- Matthew 12:31

d. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

- I John 5:7

Some who deny the scriptural truth of the Holy Trinity claim that the Holy Spirit is only a power or an influence which flows forth from God. The Bible, however, speaks of the Holy Spirit as a divine Person in the following five ways:

    1. God the Holy Spirit is spoken of as a Comforter, not a comfort (John 14:26, 15:26, 16:17).

    2. The characteristics of a person are given to God the Holy Spirit:

      a. Intelligence (John 14:26, Romans 3:16).

      b. Will (Acts 16:7, 1 Corinthians 12:11).

      c. Affections (Isaiah 63:10, Ephesians 4:30).

    3. God the Holy Spirit performs the actions of a person:

      a. Creates (Genesis 1:2).

      b. Strives (Genesis 6:3).

      c. Teaches (Luke 12:12).

      d. Testifies (John 15:26).

      e. Reproves (John 16:8).

      f. Commands (Acts 13:2).

      g. Resurrects (Romans 8:11).

      h. Searches (I Corinthians 2: 10-11).

    4. God the Holy Spirit stands in relation to others as His own person (Acts 15:28, Matthew 28:19, 1 Peter 1:1-2, John 16:14, 11 Corinthians 13:14, Jude: 20-21).

    5. God the Holy Spirit is distinguished as a person from His own power (Luke 1:35, Acts 10:38, 1 Corinthians 2:4, Luke 4:14, Romans 15:13).
