The name Jehovah is frequently joined to a second name in the Old Testament, for instance:

Jehovah-jireh (Genesis 22:14) - The LORD will provide

Jehovah-nissi (Exodus 17:15) - The LORD our Banner

Jehovah-shalom (Judges 6:24) - The LORD our Peace

    Jehovah-roih (Psalm 23: 1) - The LORD my Shepherd

Jehovah-shammah (Ezekiel 48:35) - The LORD is there.

The New Testament was originally written in the Greek language. The most commonly used Greek names of God are:

1. Theos (God) - "Theos" is the Greek name for God which replaces the Hebrew titles of "El ... .. Elohim," and "Elyon." This is the most commonly used name for God in the New Testament and is printed as "God."

2. Kurios (Lord) - "Kurios" is the New Testament name used for "Yahweh," "Jehovah," or "Adonai." This title, used for both God and Christ, is written as "Lord" in our English Bible.

3. Pantokrator (The Almighty) - Pantokrator (The Almighty) - "Pantokrator" replaces the Hebrew name "Shaddai"; it is translated into English as "the Almighty. "

4. Sabaoth (Sabaoth) - The name "Sabaoth" is not translated in the King James New Testament, but is printed in its Hebrew form as "Sabaoth."

5. Pater (Father) - The Greek name "Pater" is a special name for God in the New Testament. This name means, and is written in our English Bible as, "Father." The name "Father" was also used for God in the Old Testament, but its use became more frequent and predominant in the new Testament.

And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father; for I say unto you, that God (Theos) is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

- Matthew 3:3b

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty (Pantokrator).

- Revelation 1:8

And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.

- Romans 9:29

He shall cry unto Me, Thou art my Father (Pater), my God, and the rock of my salvation.

- Psalm 89:26
