Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and to death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.

But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one Man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by One, Jesus Christ.

Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of One the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

- Romans 5:12,15,17-18

For as in Adam all die, even to in Christ shall all be made alive.

- 1 Corinthians 15:22

What two covenants are being compared in this example? How is the same principle of covenant head representation displayed in both covenants?

"I still don't think it's fair," Sandy answered. "I can't help it that Adam sinned."

Sandy's teacher thought for a moment and then wrote the following on the chalkboard:

Sandy's teacher then asked, "Sandy, why are all God's children saved?"

"Because Jesus paid the price for their sins," she answered.

"Didn't each one of God's children earn his own righteousness?"

"Of course not," Sandy answered, wondering why her teacher would suggest that. "Jesus earned their righteousness and it's given to each of them."

"How can it be given to each of them?"

"Jesus is their Head; their representative. What He earned is applied to His children."

    "Is that fair?"

Sandy paused. "I understand," she replied. "It's just the same, isn't it?"

What did Sandy mean with her last comment, "It's just the same"? What did she understand?
