All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

    - Isaiah 53:6

Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.

    - Jeremiah 13:23

    2. Man's will is not free, but is in bondage to his evil nature, sin, and Satan. He makes choices, but he always chooses sin (not "saving good, when excersing his natural ability").

And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

    - Genesis 6:5

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

    - Jeremiah 17:9

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

    - Romans 8:7-8

And you hath He quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins:

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world,

according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience.

    - Ephesians 2:1-2

For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

    - Titus 3:3

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

    - John 8:44

    3. Only God's regenerating grace can cause the spiritually dead sinner to live and enable him to repent and believe (not "the sinner's own ability").

And you hath He quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins:

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

    - Ephesians 2:1-3

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

    - John 3:5

Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

    - John 1:13

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

    - John 6:63

For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom He will.

    - John 5:21

And He said, therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto Me, except it were given unto him of My Father.

    - John 6:65
