To rely upon ourselves for salvation's assurance is far from assuring. To trust in God for salvation is true assurance. Why are these statements true?
Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
-I Corinthians 1:8-9
For by one offering He hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called.
For ye are dead, and your
life is hid with Christ in God.
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory.
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me:
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand.
My Father, which gave them Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of My Father's hand.
Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.

through the one-sided, gracious, and complete work of a triune God for them (not "that they must remain uncertain through fear of falling out of this state of grace again").
For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed: but My kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of My peace be removed, saith the LoRD that hath mercy on thee.
And this is the will of Him that sent Me, that everyone which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me hath everlasting life.
For whom He did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Moreover whom He did predestinate, them He also called: and whom He called, them he also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified.
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the Word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise.
Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My Word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
