Medium -A peson who claims to be capable of communicating with the spirits of the deceased
Occultism -The belief and practice of communicating with the realm of spirits through mysterious means of witchcraft, mediums, astrology, magic, etc.
If all the lost received a second chance to be saved after their .death, the zeal for mission, evangelistic and church work would be hindered. Why? How does this belief undermine the value of our life on earth? ?
To clearly understand that our lifetime on earth is our only time of salvation is crucial and of eternal consequences. Why?
How does Matthew 25:31-46, printed on the corresponding page, testify of a person's eternal judgment being based upon what he did or did not do in his lifetime on earth, not in a future existence?
spirits condemn sinners to bring them to despair. Which did this spirit do? Read verse 20. What was the result of the words of this 'Samuel'?
f this 'Samuel' had really been the true Samuel,
would he not have reprimanded Saul for using this devilish medium which clearly transgressed God's law?"
How does this example illustrate the importance of obeying God's command never to have any dealings with the devilish powers of occultism?
The state of one's soul at death is permanent. There is no "later" or "second chance" to be saved as some groups proclaim. Scriptural support for this false belief is based upon two texts in the First Epistle of Peter, in the face of a great number of scriptural references to the contrary. These two texts are:

By which also He went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water."
-I Peter 3:18-20
"For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit."
-I Peter 4:6
The misinterpretation of these verses, the belief that they teach a "second chance," is made by picturing this preaching to the souls of the lost as a preaching which takes place after they have died, in their intermediate state. The verses quoted, however, do not state that. Rather, they state that the Spirit of Christ had preached His
