seeing new sights, receiving new experiences of God's love, and serving and reigning with Christ in new ways forever. A countless number of activities shall fill their lives throughout eternity.
While the saints shall perfectly rest in heaven from all their labors, those related to the troubles and struggles of sin in this life, this resting will not be the same as idleness. They shall eternally work in harmony with God and the holy angels in a rich variety of callings according to their talents and interests, in harmony with their new natures and surroundings.
6. Perfect beauty -No blot, trace, or effect of sin will mar the beauty and landscape of the new heaven and earth. No human defect, weakness, or illness, no weed, death, discord, or disharmony of any type shall be seen in heaven. No stunting of growth or beauty as we experience on earth due to the lack of proper rain, sunshine, or temperature shall be witnessed in heaven. Paradise shall be restored in its full and unblemished beauty.
7. Perfect security -Previously on earth precious gifts such as one's loved ones, friends, home, land, possessions, etc. could be lost. But in heaven the saints can rest perfectly content and secure. It will be impossible for anyone or anything to ever take away or interrupt the eternal joys they experience there.
Is it any wonder that Scripture refers to the new heaven with the most glorious titles? It calls heaven eternal life (Matthew 19:16), everlasting life (Matthew 19:29), everlasting habitations (Luke 16:9), glory of God (Romans 5:2), eternal salvation (Hebrews 5:9), Paradise (II Corinthians 12:4), kingdom prepared for you (Matthew 25:34), everlasting kingdom of Christ (II Peter 1:11), eternal inheritance (I Peter 1:4), rest (Hebrews 4:9-10), the Father's house of many mansions (John 14:2), heavenly country (Hebrews 11:6), Abraham's bosom (Luke 16:22), building of God (II Corinthians 12:2), inheritance of the saints in light (Colossians 1: 12), a city with foundations (Hebrews 11:10), Mount Zion, the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem (Hebrews 12:22), an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled (I Peter 1 :4), and the holy city, new Jerusalem (Revelation 21 :2).
Who can fully describe the joy of a heavenly pilgrim as he enters his eternal home?
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand.
Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.
To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you.
-I Peter 1:4
And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as ctystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and His servants shall serve Him:
And they shall see His face; and His Name shall be in their foreheads.
